
And so the time has finally come! As of 4.00pm today, Corkscrew closed to the public forever!
I’m sure you’re all aware of its closure by now, so I won’t drag on the story that has been published many a time over the past 3 weeks.
The press were out in force today aswell as park enthusiasts - some of whom that even managed to get on BBC News! Russell Barnes also got a few words in and reiterated that Corkscrew’s replacement will open in 2010 and will be a first of its kind, continuing the tradition of breathtaking rollercoasters at Alton Towers!
So whilst today draws the curtain on Alton Towers’ longest running rollercoaster, the door opens for another to thrill park visitors furthermore in 2010!
